Why your practice needs you to take CME Pain Management Training:

The Statistics on pain are staggering.

  • The American Academy of Pain Medicine estimates over 75 million Americans live with serious pain.
  • The National Center for Health Statistics released to the press that 26% of Americans over the age of 20 are in pain.
  • In the government's annual comprehensive report of American's health in 2006, the statistics state that 1 in 10 of American's pain will have lasted over one year.
  • Pain is recognized as a serious concern for Americans. Congress has a bill in the senate, National Pain Care Act of 2009, to increase the awareness of pain as a serious medical problem needing to be addressed in our health care system.

Are your patients seeking a knowledgeable doctor to help them relieve their pain? Patients are desperate for a medical practitioner to understand that their pain is real and debilitating. Patients want to stay working with their family practitioner, who knows and understands them. According to experts, the average patient has found it necessary to change doctors three times to obtain pain relief.

As a medical professional are you fully trained and comfortable in pain management? Could you be losing a portion of your patient base because you do not capitalize fully on your patient's need for treatment of painful conditions? Pain is a universal problem; it knows no boundaries, social, economic or cultural making it viable as a sub specialty service for all practices. Expand your current practice to include diagnosis and treatment relating to pain management of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine.

American Medical training offers comprehensive CME Pain Management Training. You will learn to administer all injections correctly and with confidence. We use an 8 Point system to make sure you are qualified to perform your procedures.

1. Learn how to develop a treatment plan that will best treat your patient while building doctor patient trust.

2. Evaluation of patients with chronic lumbosacral pain will be part of your training.

3. You will receive demonstrations and hands on (small groups ranging from 4-6 participants per station) practice of needle placement techniques on volunteer patients and cadavers in a medical laboratory setting.

These injections include the following:

- Destructive/Diagnostic Facet injections

- Paravertebral Facet injections

- Trigger point injections

- Transforaminal epidural injections

4. Techniques utilizing fluoroscopic image and ultrasound guidance will be taught.

5. When you leave our CME training on pain management, you will know the specific supplies and solutions needed, with the appropriate dosages. In your hand will be supplier information for everything you will need to add pain management to your practice.

6. Compliance is taught to help make certain correct procedures are followed once our doctors return home. This helps prevent over utilization of pain medications and gives doctors the confidence to practice what they have learned.

7. Medical Ethics in pain management is discussed and questions answered.

8. We know that today, paperwork is the key in getting paid for services rendered. Proper coding and documentation is taught so that your office can deal correctly with insurance carriers.

American Medical Training’s faculty is available for questions after you have gone back to your practice. Our job does not end when the CME training is over.

All hands on training takes place in clean, respectful environment, in a state of the art lab.

Also included in the workshop price is a 2 hour webinar for you AND your staff. This webinar will cover coding and documentation for these procedures and will be scheduled upon completion of the workshop.
