Not all dermal fillers are created equal. Each filler has specific purposes for which it is best suited. These results vary by patient and product and could last from 6 months to a year or longer.
Juvederm® is made from hyaluronic acid. It is used to fill and smooth moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane® is also made from hyaluronic acid. It is mostly used for moderate facial lines and wrinkles, as opposed to lifting and contouring purposes.
Radiesse® is made from calcium-based microspheres suspended in a water-based gel. This filler provides provides an immediate and prolonged result as it stimulates the production of collagen and encourages tissue regeneration. It is most commonly used for the smoothing of nasolabial folds and marionette lines.
The use of injectable cosmetic fillers are a popular choice with patients desiring immediate cosmetic results. Complications can arise if you use the wrong type of filler or injection procedure and can include migration of the injected implant, hypersensitivity, allergic reactions and infection. We will introduce you to Filler Complications, Prevention and Management and present case studies.
You get to choose!
In this course, you may choose to practice with any of these popular dermal fillers (included in the workshop fee). Additional syringes may be purchased when you register for the course. We are one of the only programs that provide you the option to choose your filler—allowing you to receive hands-on training with the product of your choice. If you are unable to provide your own volunteers, please let us know in advance so we can secure them for you.
We will be covering the following injection sites: nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and lip and cheek augmentation.
